Joy and Sorrow: Keidanren Review Goes On-Line; Terminates Print Publication

It is with joy, as well as sorrow, that we announce the end of an era for Keidanren Review, since we will no longer be printing the Review on paper after this, our final issue. We will, however, continue publication of the Review on the Internet and we hope that you will support our decision to choose the electronic media as a means of expanding both our scope of services, as well as our audience. We are pleased that in this new form, we will be able to provide you with an increasing volume of information through our Internet service, which will retain the title, Keidanren Review.

As of July, Keidanren's published information is available in both English and Japanese to anyone who has a PC equipped with Internet browser software and a modem. Our address on the Internet - "http://www.keidanren.or.jp" - will provide you with access to a much more comprehensive range of information than we could ever have provided on paper.

Additionally, this transition period allows us to reconstruct ourpilation of information on our worldwide web server, but in future we will be able to provide a comprehensive data base of Keidanren's activities to anyone, worldwide.

In the near future, we plan to create the "Keidanren Forum" within our Internet domain, which would be used by our subscribers as a "mailbox" in which to exchange views and leave inquiries. For the time being, let me say farewell to you our readers and to this, our final print version of Keidanren Review, and welcome to Keidanren Review On-line. We have appreciated your on-going support of our publication over the years and do hope we can continue to serve you in the future.

Sincerely yours,

Atsuo Ueda
