Now everybody talks about the pension system with fears in town. The Japanese public pension system is dying with a series of pension scandals. The ruling and opposite parties are required to have serious discussions on rebuilding of the system. The system should be reformed into a more sustainable and reliable one. In the process of the discussion, it is worth considering if the basic pension part can be maintained mainly with tax revenue.
Realization of the primary surplus in the public finance by the fiscal year 2011 is an official commitment. Retreat is unthinkable.
