Japan is in the middle of the national crisis. The government and private sector must work hard together to revive the economy and survive the tough situation with the introduction of the Japanese version of the New Deal. Keidanren has proposed a tentative plan for the discussions. The opinion paper focuses on national projects to ensure job security and enhance growth potential.

If the United States adopted any protectionist trade policy despite the G20 consensus against protectionism, the global economy would face quite serious challenges. The world is watching carefully what conclusion American leaders reach.

Keidanren is calling on the member companies to follow its charter on college student recruitment, requiring businesses to refrain from jumping the gun. More than 900 members have approved. Our efforts shall continue.
