Fairness and effectiveness must be secured in the Post Kyoto framework. All the countries responsible for a great amount of the emission need to join the new international cooperation to prevent the global warming. Keidanren is sending a delegation to the COP15 by the Japanese government's request. The mission members will work hard to have our views and opinions reflected in the negotiations.
The additional stimulus package is anticipated to prop up the economy. It is going to contain many quick-acting remedies such as subsidy and tax cut for eco-friendly cars, Eco-points stimulus plan and additional support to small and medium sized companies as well as jobless people. The government needs not only to continue to implement necessary economic policy measures in the FY2009 budget without a break but also to show the mid-long term strategy of the Japanese economic growth.
The government has not reached the most crucial stage. The tax reform and budget building for the next year has no time to lose.
