1. Nature conservation (Environment) measure posture to activity

In all our business activities, we are committed to protecting and creating a better environment and fulfilling our responsibility to local communities and society at large as a good corporate citizen.
Taisei Corporation's Environmental Policies: Guiding Principles (Extract)

The Fund supports such preservation and research activities conducted both in Japan and overseas. Since its establishment in 1993, the Fund has provided support to a total of 266 organizations including nongovernmental organizations.
Activities at construction sites
At our construction sites, we conduct environmental conservation activities in cooperation with local residents, nonprofit organizations (NPOs), etc. The following highlight some examples of these activities.
- At several construction sites, we collect empty cans and pull-tabs from facilities installed alongside vending machines at the sites and exchange them for money, using the proceeds to purchase wheelchairs, which are then donated to local organizations. We also donate empty cans to such organizations engaged in similar activities as municipalities, schools, NPOs, and so forth.
- Our employees at construction sites participate in local water sprinkling campaigns for protecting heat-island phenomena and cleaning activities. We also hold study tours of the sites.
- Introducing a range of volunteer activities on the in-house intranet
- We participate construct in the Animal pathway reseach Group of consisted
Conservation of dormouse and popularization of animal pathway,Hokuto-city,Yamanashi pref.,Japan.
3. Environmental education and volunteer training (employee)
- We incorporate environmental education in training seminars for new employees and project managers as well as in other educational programs conducted at our branch ofiiceds and head office. As for specialty contractors, we give them environmental education at construction sites and also provide them with environmental information through Taisei Association of Subcontractors for a Health, Safety and Environment in an effort to assist them to boost their environmental knowledge.
- We transmit environmental information to both employees and outsiders through our in-house magazines, the Internet and so on.
- We have been participating in the Tokyo metropolitan government's Tokyo Greenship Action program, under which our employees and their families conduct volunteer activities. As their first activity, they cut weeds and repaired wood fences in the Kiyose Matsuyama green space conservation area.
- We commend excellent environmental conservation activities and research under our commendation program for the protection of the global environment, thereby raising the environmental awareness of employees. We put good examples of employee efforts on the intranet message board and other means to promote across-the-board environmental conservation activities.
4. Environmental education ( outside company)
- We hold study tours of our construction sites to help deepen people's understanding of the social mission of the construction industry, actual construction activities and the necessity of improving social infrastructure.
- We introduced the environmental activities of the construction industry at-large and Taisei at an event named "Machi-no Sensei Mihon-ichi" organized by Shinjuku Ward for children, the leaders of the future.
- We provide support to student-based environmental education by participating in the Eco Products - Eco Style Fair (as a member of the Japan Federation of Construction Contractors) and through various other means.

6. Wood structure activities of afforestation, silviculture, etc.
- On Miyakejima Island and in the Tohoku region, we provide assistance for the coaling of thinned wood and trees withered due to exposure to volcanic gases, and cooperate in reforestation activities.
- We are also engaged in the creation of biotopes and the regeneration of underwater plants.
- In the Arabian Gulf, we have created a water ecosystem for egg production and growth of young fish utilizing our R&D expertise, and work to create a "forest" in the sea.
