Policy Proposals  Trade, Investment, EPA/FTA Statement on the TPP from Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce

Monday, July 27, 2015

The undersigned business groups, representing national chambers of commerce across the Asia-Pacific region, applaud the efforts by negotiators to conclude the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) negotiations at the Hawaii Ministerial this week.

Our members look forward to reviewing the eventual agreement in the hope and expectation negotiators will secure a high-standard and comprehensive agreement. Upon reaching this goal, our organizations pledge to work together in partnership to ensure the final agreement is approved and fully implemented.

The TPP, which will cover nearly 40% of the world's GDP, has the potential to unlock economic growth and create substantial new opportunities for workers and farmers — as well as businesses of all sizes and sectors — across the region.

We wish our ministers success this week and look forward to working with our members to ensure the benefits of the agreement are shared by all.
