This memorandum of cooperation is signed on this 1, December 2025, in Ottawa, by and between:
- Goldy Hyder, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Business Council of Canada and
- Masayoshi Fujimoto and Yuji Akasaka, Chairs of the Committee on Canada of Keidanren (Japan Business Federation).
Recognizing the importance of strengthening business relations and enhancing cooperation between Canada and Japan, both participants hereby concur as follows:
Article 1
In furtherance of above recognition, both participants collaborate:
- To promote policy dialogue and make recommendations to Governments on issues such as trade/investment, economic security, and sustainability.
- To undertake exchange of information pertaining to business, trade/investment and economic opportunities.
- To support and encourage exchange of trade and industry delegations and missions as well as visits of business leaders either individually or in groups between the two countries.
Article 2
The participants will take all necessary steps to ensure that the memorandum of cooperation works for their mutual benefit.
Article 3
In case of difference of opinion or interpretation or misunderstanding between the participants, both participants concur in principle to find an amicable solution based on the principle of deliberation and consent.
Article 4
This memorandum of cooperation will come into operation upon signature. The memorandum of cooperation may be amended by written agreement of the participants.
The memorandum of cooperation will be signed by duly authorized persons of both participants on the date mentioned above, in two copies in English version, each being authentic.
