Keidanren is concerned by the lack of any tangible progress between the UK and EU in negotiating the UK's exit from the EU during the recent EU summit.

Since the impact of a withdrawal without an agreement would be immense, we expect both sides to make every effort to avoid a "no-deal" scenario.

We also strongly hope to see measures as flexible as possible on both sides to promptly reach an agreement, including setting a transition period, that would ensure the UK's smooth withdrawal.

Keidanren intends to keep a close eye on the situation as a continuing matter of grave concern.
