Recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake

Related ministries, agencies and local governments have worked hard towards disaster area recovery. It is, however, hard to recognize the restoration activities have gained momentum. It is widely said that a lack of workforce in local governments as well as the shortage of workers, materials and equipment for reconstruction work have brought about the situation.

PM Abe is firmly determined to create a new Tohoku through rebuilding of the devastated areas. Japanese people need to get together and make an all-out recovery effort to attain the goal under the leadership of the Prime Minister. The commanding role of the Reconstruction Agency is being strengthened. It is the right direction. We will never be allowed to stop on the way.
